About
I am a UNIX Systems Administrator by trade and have designed, installed, and administered Solaris, BSD, Linux and HP-UX environments over theĀ past 11 years. I enjoy working in high pressured mission critical, change control and SLA oriented environments.
My hobbies include watching rugby, visiting family and friends, developing automation tools, keeping up to date with the latest trends in Information Technology and tinkering with anything and everything that amuses me.
I am currently (happily) employed by Freezone Internet as a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator.
UNIX:
Modern operating system carefully crafted to prevent administrators from shooting themselves in the foot [1].
[1] Interestingly, most utilities have a command line option which will cause the system to rip the user’s legs off and beat them to death with the soggy ends. This is often the default behaviour.
